Voter Education 2002
Montana's public schools and colleges are in crisis because the
state legislature has severely under-funded them for over a decade.
Although most Montana voters support more state funding for public education, they continue to elect legislators who vote against adequate state funding for public schools and colleges. It's difficult for voters, because all candidates claim to support education. Unfortunately, that support often ends on election day.
The Stand Up For Education developed a nonpartisan effort in 2002 to encourage voters to make sure they're voting for candidates who really do support education and will back up their support with adequate funding. Radio and billboards were placed in Helena, Kalispell, Missoula, Billings, Bozeman.
